Starshot, Taiga Frost, and Ebb

These guys are a strange little blended family Starshot, the stallion, is actually the little guy's big brother - Starshot has been taking care of Ebb for years, I'm guessing their parents died but I haven't fleshed that part out yet. Taiga Frost is not related to either of them - she is from the northern regions, and when she and Starshot met, they fell in love. So she's kinda like Ebb's aunt; once he got over the idea of her dating his brother, he likes her a lot. Here he is covering his eyes because he thinks they're about to kiss ... awww. Okay, on to the profiles ...

Starshot and his little brother come from a warrior tribe from a plains area of Equestria. He has always been a great archer, both for hunting (protecting the tribe from dangerous predators) and in battle. His name and cutie mark come from a legend that, as a young colt, he shot an arrow up into the night sky and a star fell to earth. When his tribe dissolved, they ended up in Univale, where he and Liwanu keep the village safe from all the dangerous animals and pony/monsters that can wander in from the surrounding wild lands. He also trains young ponies in archery (Ebb has no skill or patience for archery) and recruits new scouts. He is pretty much in charge of the hunters/border watch, as Liwanu is often away. He is an efficient, patient sort of stallion, with crazy good reflexes and a viscious streak to defend his home from monsters if necessary.

Ebb was a newborn foal when he and his brother left their tribe, which dissolved after a devastating attack (I'll work on the details) that killed their parents. He doesn't really remember their old home. Their mother was from a tribe by the seashore, and he seems to have gotten a little more of her genes; they discovered he has an inborn ability to swim when they moved to Univale, which borders a lake and a bit of seacoast; he loves playing in the ocean, while his older brother secretly can't swim and is even a little afraid of the oean. Ebb is energetic and playful, rather undisciplined and has a hard time focusing on things like schoolwork. He'd rather be exploring and playing with his friends, esp his best friend Skaria. (Both of them previously dolled here.)

Taiga (which is the word for a permafrost forest region) comes from the north, where ponies have thicker coats and shaggy fetlocks, and no cutie marks apparently. She was never disciplined enough to learn much magic, but in the winter she finds it easier to play with frost, snow, air currents, and occasionally she can throw snowballs with magic. She is better at fighting - she's good with a knife and decent with a bow, and best at good old fashioned kicking. She's kind of silly and playful, and likes to tease and take the piss out of other ponies, but not in a mean way. She's also rather competitive, at everything from racing to knife skills to downing cider; she doesn't mind losing, really just lives for fun. As much as she likes to joke around and tease Starshot, she's very loyal and affectionate with her special somepony. She's also a sort of part-time member of the Univale scouts, and specializes in making things out of leather, like pouches and sheaths for weapons, for anypony who wants them.
